Well we don't force you to join. Maybe it was an auto join... Either way thanks for the feedback.

People who join/part the channel fast enough are being killed off the network. But this is only a global kill and they are able to reconnect just fine, so there are no k:lines or bans involved with the join/parting.
As for the spammers and bottlers we already have wonderful systems such as the passive IP scan by py-bopm (se below) on connection, we have our own flood detector and not to forget the active IRC Operators with loads of experience to deal with these things.
-py-bopm- Pursuant to United States Code (USC), Title 18, Part 1, Section 2701 Part (c),
-py-bopm- Rizon will do a passive scan of your IP address to check for open proxies.
-py-bopm- If you do not consent to this scan, disconnect now. These scans are harmless andbwill originate from proxyscan.rizon.net (65.23.155.92). For more information see #help.

The beauty with this channel is that you need to work your way out. Eventually you will learn a few tricks on how to get out. Think of it as a game. Either you will get so frustrated you end up finding a way out or you actually realize you love the channel and you regret ever wanting to leave.
Autojoin? Was that a mockery?
I don't want to autojoin some inescapable channel, but today it happened second time.
How do I avoid this if I don't want and do nothing to, but still autojoin it?
I don't read it. I don't even understand who'd want to sit on such a channel and waste his time. Maybe there are some NEETs that have nothing else to do - I am not one of them.Quote:

Please, turn off that autojoin.
Thank you.
I find this very amusing :):D:D.
I love it. I'm addicted to the UNO. =(
I got trapped by someone, I use pidgin so it really annoys me because I can't close the window, please get me out of here
@LeonLanford: get a proper IRC client =b
There is more than one way out? =OQuote:

Hello ^^
I really find that channel cool
But i noticed, that without Auto-OP enabled, you don't get voiced at all
Could you allow people getting voice to use the ChanServ voice command or something ? Or like, PM some bot for getting voiced
About the auto-join thing, i think it's a good idea, since there is really no point in not being here (well, at least, for most users ?). And it's fun to see people trying to get out as it don't make any difference to be in or out.
But i guess some peoples don't like that... Then, i propose some other "trap" system :
Instead of waiting 45-90 minutes before allowing everyone to get out, every user would be allowed to go out invidually after 30-45 minutes (TrapBot would send a notice), just enough time to try to make them want to stay on it :P. Or, every 10 minutes for 30 seconds, but without notice !
Edit: Sorry for my bad English, i'm French : /
I like how you get auto-rejoined when you join once. I'm finally out of it. Only just got out. But it's still fun, and quite a challenge. You have to make sure you're watching IRC when the 1 minute silence is on. What I did is set the nick 'TrapBot' to highlight me, then I quickly parted the channel.
But yeah, it's cool.
This is retarded as hell.
Somehow I managed to escape accidently. Either quitting or reconnecting was the escape minute and the channel didn't open back up. I was disappointed. :(
Should be abolished.
i love it.
zuko -dead lol.
Thank you sooo much :) I don't want to bitch about this deplorable channel, I'm just glad I could escape.
I have a fucking sense of humor and preying on human nature, then accusing them of being humorless fucktards is NOT funny. kTHXbye~
I love it. Fun to invite kiddies with auto-join-on-invite on :D
While I don't mind the channel being there, i'm sick of being thrown into it randomly. I have auto-invite off, and I never joined the channel manually, or by clicking any link. I suddenly just get thrown in. I've been banned from it at least 5 times, but I keep randomly getting thrown into there.
The problem is a lot of people are spamming, and since I'm not actively reading the chat, it fills my memory, as my client keeps logs, etc.
This channel is a monsterous injustice.
And before I get hit with the smug arrogance of the Darwinists, I've NEVER clicked a on a link, NEVER been to this channel before, and my IP is secure, so I'd actually quite like to know why I was thrown in during sign-on for apparently no reason at all. There are 200 people in there, and what with the lone half-spent braincell repeatedly attempting the trivia questions with the unrelenting procession equatable to that of a winning moth-lightbulb combination, my logs fill, my bandwidth is sapped, and my browser is threatened by spontaneous quick death. In an attempt to be ejected I decided to continually stop the Trivia in an effort to be kicked by this individual--an obvious show of distress that was answered by my being devoiced, which, when all is boiled down, is nothing short of sadistic.
The internet is not your psychology experiment, Rizon.
To leave, type /part continuously.
Edit: Ah, that's cute.
You are not being held at your will, but it appears you have become accustom to the channel information provided in the topic.
Oh, okay.
Wait.
What?
They let everyone part the channel after a certain amount of time. Also if you are wanting to get out immediately then disconnect and close out the window for the channel and reconnect problem solved. That if you haven't already figured it out :)
The doesn't work. I've disconnected and reconnected multiple times, closing my browser fully in the final instance. Hence the edit.
And I assume you're talking about the "window of opportunity". Apparently I have to keep an eye on the chat virtually continuously from between 45 - 90 minutes and am unable to see how long is left as I'm devoiced.
The reason is that you're connected from Mibbit's IP, and so are a few other users. If only one of them was on #DontJoinItsATrap, you're svsjoined in there upon connecting as well.
Using Mibbit, connect to mibbit.rizon.net, otherwise use qwebirc or a regular client, in order to (appear to) be connected from your own IP, then you won't randomly be svsjoined into #DontJoinItsATrap.
i dont like this chnnel ...
It is annoying...
ye it got me i was in it for a couple of days :(
I love this channel. :-)
I love to make people suffer! Hehe.
This channel has a serious love hate relationship.
LOL. I need to figure out how to set up a channel like this on the Undernet network.
mibbit.rizon.net is down and has been for days; now I'm being forced to use qchat or face the same problems, so this, while obviously not a major issue, is more stress I could probably do without.
mibbit.rizon.net/irc.rizon.net is fine, it's Mibbit failing to resolve it, complain to them.
mibbit.com/chat/ -> Rizon works because it uses a particular Rizon server instead of the main pool there.
When I first heard of the channel, I had joined it. I then tried to leave and couldn't, I was so scared. I knew it was for the lulz. D:
I love this channel. Pleae make more of these. There's always someone talking and something to do there. I LOVE IT!!!!
I use a webchat with a community on Rizon.
Every single one of my users are forcejoined to that channel every day, despite a few of them luckily parting it occasionally. It just doesn't change anything.
Noone knows why. Because noone even joined it.
The host address is the same for all users, because they are using the webchat.
This channel is pissing everyone off, and they can't even change nickname. Remove it, please.
The channel won't be removed.
Best solution is to:
A use a different webchat Rizon provides 2. qchat.rizon.net and eris.rizon.net.
or
B complain to mibbit for the issues they are having and causing their users to not show real ips on Rizon. This is an issue with mibbit not Rizon.
Hmmm.... the channel isnt bad. I swear the first time I joined it.. I thought this is part of a scam :p I was so scared. :'( thought my computer will get hacked...
Then I spoke to an irc op and got out of the channel. Thank goodness. Since then I have gone on and off the channel quite a few times.
I havent been in it for a while but I personally dont like it much, I fell for it a long time ago, but I agree with some of the others that have posted here that it was my own stupid fault for joining in the first place, what bugs me though is that some of the bnc channels (<3 RizonBNC) are trapped so you are forced to join every time the bnc's server crashes even if you never joined yourself, its an easy fix but still annoying nonetheless
Hi, i love this chan. I want the same in my german fansubchan, so could you please let me have the stuff/let me know how it works?
