How do I use chat?

Hey everybody one of my friends told me to go to a link and I did but it asks for a channel or whatever and my nickname which i put in no worries. How do I connect to his chat?

If I interpreted you correctly, you're trying to get into your friend's channel. You can pick any nick you want on the network (as long as the nick isn't already registered; see '/ns info nick' if you're unsure) and where it says channel, you should enter the name of your friend's channel. If you're not sure what the channel name is, you should him/her. As long as you enter the right channel name, you should be able to enter his chat.
