    Default Badwords @ IRC Server

A nice new feature for the server would be a badword list, that stops blocked words from being visible to others.
    For example:
    Blocked word: *wares*
User XYZ sentence: Visit whatever-link for wares
Other users won't see his sentence.

I saw the badword list in another network so i don't think that this would be impossible to add. It would be really useful because the badword kick feature of BotServ won't stop the words being visible to other people in the channel.

    Then people will just say:

    <user> Visit mysite.com for top W@rez!

<user> Visit mysite.com for free software!

    <user> Visit mysite.com for KlDP0RN!

I highly doubt this will be implemented as it'd require the IRCd to check all messages for bad words, which can easily suck up a lot of CPU on the server end and decrease performance.

Not so much the resources it would take, but more on the lines as we would rather not censor our users on every single thing they type or say. However we do have rules as to what and what is not allowed. Those must be followed. But this is more of a censorship concept that highly has the odds against it as to being approved.

UnrealIRCd implements it, InspIRCd partially, too. It's probably extremely resource hungry, though. And if it isn't, I agree with blake, I don't want that kind of hidden censorship.
